Notes for Lamech:

His name in Hebrew is: למך Lemek (leh’-mek) Strongs #3929.  In Greek: Λάμεχ Lamĕch (lam’-ekh) Strongs #2984.

Methuselah, Lamech’s father was 187 when Lamech was born.  Therefore, Lamech lived to the age of 182 when his son Noah was born.  After the birth of Noah, Lamech lived to the age 777.  Lamech is known as the only person with the shortest life span before The Flood.  Although, Enoch (Lamech’s grandfather) lived to 365, but did not die, so Enoch doesn’t count.

Lamech was 180 when he married Ashmua. (15)  Two years after their marriage, their son was born.  Lamech called him Menachem, saying, “This one shall comfort us in our works and miserable toil in the earth, which Yahvah had cursed.”  However, the child’s grandfather Methuselah named Manachem as Noah, saying, “The earth was in his days at rest and free from corruption.” (16)

There isn’t much recorded about Lamech in the Bible, Jubilees, or Jasher.
