Notes for Cainan:

His name in Hebrew is: קינן Qêynân (kay-nawn’), Strongs #7018; fixed.  In Greek: Καϊνάν Kaϊnan (kah-ee-nan’) Strongs #2536.

There is hardly any history of Cainan, although in Jasher 2:11 – 14, he was known to be very wise and was a ruler over the whole earth.

Cainan’s father, Enos was 90 years old when Cainan was born, and Cainan lived to the age of 70 when Mahalaleel was born.  Then, after the birth of Mahalaleel, Cainan lived to the age of 910.

Lamech, Cainan’s second cousin thrice removed became his son-in-law when he married Cainan’s two daughters Adah and Zillah.
